The cast and crew of FOX musical dramedy 'Glee' have been put in a horrible position by actor Cory Monteith's death, one we recently learned to be more subtly dealt with in the coming season 5. You'd never know it by the first official teaser trailer for 'Glee' season 5, as something (or someone) seems entirely absent from the otherwise cheerful footage.

Highlighting an upbeat montage of moments from the past season, the first teaser trailer for 'Glee' season 5 comes with a repeating tagline “Once again with feeling, once again with drama, once again with passion. Are you ready to go once again?” Cory Monteith's Finn Hudson receives no mention within the spot, nor is the character even seen. Big smiles, everyone!

‘Glee’ season 5 will feature several other exits after series star Jayma Mays’ announced departure, as longtime series stars Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Harry Shum, Jr. have stepped down as regulars, while Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty) and ‘The Glee Project‘ alumni Blake Jenner and Alex Newell were promoted as such. ‘American Idol‘ runner-up Adam Lambert will also take a role as Kurt’s new NYC rival.

'Glee' season 5 will premiere on September 26, the first two episodes of which will feature a Beatles tribute, while the third episode will address Cory Monteith's passing. Following the tribute, 'Glee' will go on a brief hiatus to retool, returning after postseason baseball.

You can check out the Finn-free spot above, and tell us in the comments if you think 'Glee' will be able to go on without Cory Monteith.
