Life is about to get a little bit crazier for Greg Bates and his wife, Shelley Skidmore: The pair just welcomed their first child, a baby boy!

Bo Rogers Bates was born early in the morning on Oct. 19. The proud papa used Instagram to share the good news a few days later, on Oct. 22.

"Our whole world changed forever. In the past two days, we have fallen in love with this little guy over and over again. God is amazing, and we are so thankful for this new addition to our family," Bates writes, sharing a sweet photo of himself, his wife and their newborn son. "@shelleyskidmore, you are my absolute hero, and I love you more than will ever know for bringing him into this world. Bo Rogers Bates, we are so lucky to be your parents."

New mom Skidmore also used social media to announce Bo's arrival: "He is perfect in every way, and we are so thankful to our God for this precious gift," she writes. "I feel like my heart is just going to explode!!"

Bates and Skidmore, both singer-songwriters, got married in 2015, in Skidmore's hometown of Stanton, Ky. Bates proposed to Skidmore over Valentine’s Day weekend in 2014. The couple revealed that they were expecting in May.

After signing a recording contract in the fall of 2011, Bates released his self-titled debut EP in July of 2012, on Republic Nashville. He released his first single, “Did It for the Girl,” in April of 2012; the song reached the Top 20 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart and the Top 10 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. He is no longer signed to a label, but Bates is currently working as a producer, according to Sounds Like Nashville.
