Ferlin Husky Passed away today at 2:15 PM. Husky had been suffering through a lengthy illness, according to his management.

The Country Music Hall of Famer Ferlin Husky, was 85 and had been in failing health for a number of weeks. Ferlin was inducted into the Hall Of Fame last year at the same time I was inducted, Husky was a radio and television broadcaster before having his first big hit on Capitol records with "A Dear John Letter" in 1953. His other hits included "Gone" and his biggest hit to date was "Wings Of A Dove." I was able to visit with him at the induction week long ceremonies last year and I can say for sure, Mr. Husky was a very nice gentleman. I and country radio will miss him greatly. My condolences to the family. He is singing for our heavenly Father now.
