‘Homeland’ Season 3 Spoilers: First Photos Emerge, Brody and Carrie’s Fate Sealed?

Homeland Season 3 Photos Spoilers Brody Carrie

For as many classified details as ‘Homeland‘ season 3 spilled from its recent panel at the TCA press tour, we still lament that the recent audio teaser revealed no new footage or stills from the September 29 premiere. That all changes today, as photos of ‘Homeland’ season 3’s first three episodes have leaked, along with spoilery death teases from the Showtime boss himself!

Spanning the first three episodes “Tin Man is Down,” “Uh…Oo…Aw” and “Tower of David,” the first photos from the new season of Showtime’s Emmy-winning terrorism thriller don’t reveal very much, but at least show us Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) will return, having been absent for the first two episodes. Plus, it looks like Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) will see a bit of action, while Carrie looks anxious! Because, you know, that’s new.

Meanwhile, Showtime boss David Nevins had some ominous words for the series when asked if ‘Homeland’ could potentially continue without either Nicholas Brody or Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), to which Nevins replied “absolutely.” Of course, nothing quite so devastating as either character death has yet been planned, but Nevins adds “I mean no spoiler by that. I would not conclude there is a blockbuster in Season 3. But if you’re going to commit yourself to being unpredictable and going where the story takes you, you’ve got to commit yourself to being unpredictable and going where the story takes you.”

Elsewhere, ‘Homeland’ season 3 picks up during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist — Nick Brody. As Carrie and Saul begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.

Along with the recent additions of ‘Iron Man‘ star Shaun Toub, Martin Donovan, Tracy Letts, Joanna Merlin, Nazanin Boniadi, Amy Morton, Lawrence Clayton, Sam Underwood, Gary Wilmes and ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 4 star Pedro Pascal, season 3 of ‘Homeland’ will see David Marciano (Virgil) and Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) stepping down as series regulars to take reduced roles, while Morena Baccarin will reprise her series regular role as Jessica Brody, in spite of her husband’s absence.

While we wait for further intel on ‘Homeland’ season 3, check out the first photos of the season below, and give us your predictions for the September 29 premiere in the comments!
