Singer Jackie Lee describes his mother's absolute beauty in a note to fans on Facebook. LaDonna Midkiff died on Saturday (June 4) following a battle with cancer.

Country music industry source All Access was among those to report the news first. On Monday, Lee took to Facebook and Twitter to express his thoughts. "I have no clue what to say, how to act, or what to do," the singer says. "My family is in extreme pain, and to be honest, we don't deserve to be."

The outpouring of love for my mom only shows the beautiful person she is on the inside and how perfectly beautiful she is on the outside. She has the strongest will of any person that I have ever met, and she gave me so many kisses every day that I never ever wondered if I was loved. My family and I love her with everything we are made of, and I can't even begin to describe how hurt we feel.

Lee is a 24-year-old artist on Broken Bow Records, Jason Aldean’s record label. To date he’s released two singles, “She Does” and "Headphones." Neither cracked the Top 40, and at last check he was said to be working on new music. Lee is also dating Maddie & Tae’s Tae Dye. She shared a photo remembering Midkiff on Instagram, sharing that Lee is the oldest of three children.

Taste of Country sends thoughts and prayers to Lee and his family. Services will be held on Tuesday (June 7) in Maryville, Tenn.
