Jake Owen‘s weekend ended in the emergency room. The singer shared two pictures late Sunday night (July 7) showing the results of a go-kart accident he was involved in. The crash came after a day of hanging out with — and racing — two of NASCAR’s most popular drivers.

Owen explained that he took a tumble trying to outrace Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer in go-karts. “I’ll stick to singing country songs,” the country star tweeted around 12AM ET Monday morning (July 8).

Harvick posted the pic of Owen in a neck brace, telling him to stick to his day job. The accident looks to have come after Owen played for the racer’s wife DeLana at her surprise 40th birthday party. Harvick posted two videos of the performance to Vine.

“Well we pulled off a bad ass surprise party for @DeLanaHarvick put 2 in the hospital and its raining now… Wow!!” the driver tweeted shortly after Owen shared his injury with fans.

Sunday night was a rare Sunday off for NASCAR drivers, as the Coke Zero 400 was on Saturday night (July 6) in Daytona Beach, Fla. Harvick and Bowyer finished third and fourth respectively, behind Tony Stewart and winner Jimmie Johnson.
