Facebook, James Lann

James Lann has a knack for singing songs that stick in your head. He started  with his first Top 5 Texas country music hit, 'You're From the Country Too', and then proceeded to follow with five consecutive Top 10 singles, including four #1's in a row. James has proven time and time again that he's a hit maker. As he prepares for a new CD, and a trip to Abilene to play at the Outlaws & Legends Music Fest in March, James Lann took the time to grant me an exclusive interview.

The first part of our conversation gave us a chance to get to know James, and where he comes from. He tells us, "I was born and raised on cattle ranches all over Arizona, New Mexico and into Texas...you know, growing up, we moved from ranch to ranch. My dad managed cattle ranches...that put the bug in me to get going, moving along the way a little bit. So...I got used to being able to get up and go whenever I needed to, and that instilled a lot of good things in me.". Lann also shares something he never told anyone in an interview before: his childhood nickname was "Hooter". Check out the whole story here.

In the second half of my interview with James Lann, I mentioned that he's got to be due to release a new CD sometime soon. "I'm working on that. You know, I've always believed that you don't release something until you've got the right material.". He also talks about the time he's spent recently with Granger Smith, telling us,. "For the next couple of months, we're hanging out and writing...hanging out on the bus and running around and doing stuff. I really enjoy those guys and his crew is amazing. They're great people.".
