On Saturday (Dec. 9) on social media, Jana Kramer revealed that she recently suffered a miscarriage. The singer and actress shared the news in a soul-bearing and heartbreaking post.

Kramer's Instagram post features a photo of the artist, dressed casually, holding up a sonogram photo. She begins, "Today I am 1-3" -- referencing the statistic that one in three women will miscarry sometime in their life. Kramer also notes that her recent miscarriage is not her first: She explains that she and her husband, Michael Caussin, were keeping her pregnancy a secret because of the troubles they'd encountered in the past.

"I don't want I'm sorry or sympathy. I just don't want to feel alone," Kramer writes. "And I know I’m not ... [S]uffering silently was my thing in the past, but it’s not now. For the women out there who have miscarried in the past ... or to those in the thick of it like me who are currently grieving and in pain, let us all be there for each other."

Kramer goes on to note that, just as she doesn't want to feel alone during this sad time, she wants to help those who have miscarried, and be there for them. She also references a blog post written by Locash member Preston Brust's wife Kristen about her own miscarriage in 2017; Kramer says Kristen's words have helped her as she tries to heal.

"The greatest lesson in all of this is about empowering yourself to recover. That you need to heal. You need to feel," Kristen Brust writes in her post. "You need to sit inside of each minute until it pushes you into the next minute and feel every bit of it and keep feeling it until you feel less or until you feel rehabilitated from your heart out. There is no time limit; there is no 'have to'. All you have to do is feel."

In her blog post, Brust reveals that the child she miscarried was due on Aug. 3; she was nine weeks pregnant when she lost the baby. She and Preston Brust, who have been married since 2015, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in early 2016.

Together, Kramer and Caussin have a daughter, who was also born in early 2016. The couple has been married since 2015, and although they announced their separation later in 2016, in the midst of a publicity storm surrounding Caussin's infidelity and treatment for sex addiction, Kramer revealed earlier this year that they were "actively working" on their marriage and were still together.
