A recent benefit concert by Jason Aldean did a whole lot of good in his hometown of Macon, Ga. The country singer and his fans raised $500,000 for the city's children's hospital.

The reigning ACM Awards Entertainer of the Year took the stage at Macon's Grand Opera House on Thursday night (April 21) to help support "the only dedicated pediatric facility in central Georgia that enhances the lives of children through patient care, research and education," according to a press release. Attendees saw Aldean perform a stripped-down set in the intimate setting.

“Pretty overwhelming the amount of money that was raised ... and I couldn’t be more proud to call [Macon] my hometown,” Aldean says in a press release. “Every single penny helps an organization that means a lot to me, and I can’t thank everyone enough for helping these kids. Emotions were running high seeing all those faces familiar faces come out to support.”

On May 19, Aldean will begin his 2016 summer tour, dubbed the Six String Circus Tour. The trek kicks off in Rogers, Ark., and will wind its way throughout the United States until early October. Ticketing details are available on JasonAldean.com.
