Matt Forte ran for 100 yards and scored three touchdowns, and the New York Jets beat the Buffalo Bills, 37-31, in Orchard Park, N.Y. on Thursday night. New York (1-1) broke a five-game losing streak to Buffalo (0-2) with the victory.

Forte's three-yard TD run with 2:12 left in the third quarter gave the Jets a 27-24 lead, and his 12-yard scoring jaunt with 4:02 left to play allowed New York to take a 37-24 advantage.

The Bills closed within a score when quarterback Tyrod Taylor connected with Mike Gillislee on an 18-yard touchdown with 1:17 to play, but Brandon Marshall caught Dan Carpenter's onside kick to squash the rally.

Jets’ quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 24 of 34 passes for 374 yards and a touchdown against his former team. Marshall caught six passes for 101 yards, while teammate Eric Decker had six catches for 126 yards and a score.

Taylor was 18-for-30 for 297 yards and three touchdowns for Buffalo. Marquise Goodwin caught two passes for 112 yards and a score for the Bills.
