Justin Moore Honors Alabama Teen Killed in Accident, Brings on Chills [Watch]

Justin Moore stopped his show on Thursday night (Nov. 7) to say a few heartfelt words about Erin Clark, a 16-year-old fan who was killed late last month in a car crash in New Hope, Ala.

Those who knew Clark and those just hearing her story for the first time united to pay tribute to a girl described as an “image of happiness.”

Fans held up lighters or lit up their cell phones to create a modern day candlelight vigil for the teen girl, who was a student at New Hope High School. WHNT reports that she died in a one-car crash around 1:30AM on Oct. 26. Two other teens were injured in the accident.

An obituary at the New Hope Funeral Home website describes Clark as an outstanding student-athlete who was involved in softball, Future Farmers of America, the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ and many other groups and organizations. Comments on Moore’s Facebook page suggest the girl’s parents were moved by this video.

“You won the best award there is which is respect from your fans, you heard our requests and responded with care! We love you,” Brittany Taylor writes to the country singer.

Moore, a father of two girls himself, was touched by the tragedy on a personal level. One fan can be heard behind the camera weeping as he introduces the story and leads into the song ‘If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away.’
