Kacey Musgraves has shared a heartbreaking new song, called "Space Cowboy." The singer-songwriter debuted the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night (Feb. 26)

"Space Cowboy" is a song about realizing that, sometimes, love wanes after the honeymoon phase wears off, and the only thing to do is say goodbye. In the tune, Musgraves speaks of being in a relationship and knowing that the other person has checked out and is looking to leave. Instead of chasing her man, however, Musgraves calmly sings about gracefully letting him go.

"So you can have your space, cowboy / I ain't gonna fence you in / Go on, ride away in your Silverado / I'll see you around again," goes the chorus of "Space Cowboy." "'Cause I know my place, and it ain't with you / Sunsets fade, and love does, too / We had our day in the sun / When a horse wants to run, ain't no sense in closing the gate / You can have your space, cowboy."

"Space Cowboy" is the seventh track on Musgraves' upcoming new album, Golden Hourdue out on March 30. The album is available for pre-order via various platforms, with "Space Cowboy" serving as one of two instant downloads.
