Keith Urban, Chris Janson Team for Raucous ‘Sold’ Cover [WATCH]

A post shared by Keith Urban (@keithurban) on

During a recent appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, Keith Urban and Chris Janson collaborated on a cover of John Michael Montgomery‘s “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident).” Both Urban and the Opry shared clips of their collaboration on Instagram.

Above, readers can see Urban and Janson rehearse their version of “Sold” on a tour bus. Urban takes lead on vocals, singing the fast-paced, tongue-twisting lyrics with ease, with Janson adding in harmonies and pulling a harmonica out of his pocket for a solo near the end of the clip. As Janson plays the harmonica, Urban starts laughing, finally cracking up enough to stop the song.

Urban and Janson performed “Sold” at the Opry on Tuesday night (Oct. 10); readers can see a clip of their performance below. The Opry’s Instagram post doesn’t include any harmonica solos from Janson, but it does include some dancing as he waits for the time to harmonize on the chorus.

Written by Richard Fagan and Robb Royer, “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” was released by Montgomery as a single in May of 1995; the song appears on his self-titled third studio album. Now one of Montgomery’s best-known songs, the tune hit No. 1 on the country charts in both the U.S. and Canada in July of 1995 and was named the No. 1 single on Billboard‘s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart for that year.

We're SOLD on this @keithurban and @thechrisjanson duet! #OnlyTheOpry
