Keith Urban's new song "Female" was already so special, but knowing that his wife Nicole Kidman also sings on it makes it even more heartfelt.

During an an interview with the Associated Press on the 2017 CMA Awards red carpet, Urban confirmed the rumors that Kidman is a featured background singer on the track, along with songwriter Nicolle Galyon.

"I thought it was nice and very personal to blend these girls into the song because it just felt very, very right and that's what the song means to me," Urban says. The country superstar released the impactful song on Nov. 8, and fans and fellow artists were quick to chime in with their support, especially knowing the background of the track.

A "Female" Songwriter Shares More Details

Urban shares that "Female" was inspired by the allegations made against Harvey Weinstein and the numerous women who have come forward with their stories. "I heard the song more as a, almost like a soul gospel, spiritual mantra," Urban describes. "Particularly the chorus of the song is absolutely pure celebration of female. It's beautiful."

The singer performed the song live during the 2017 CMA Awards — a highlight of the show. He also picked up a win for Single of the Year for "Blue Ain't Your Color," his first time taking home an accolade in the category, and participated in the show's star-studded opening number.
