Kellie Pickler Visits with Ellen DeGeneres About Shaving Her Head in Support of Friend with Cancer [VIDEO]

Kellie Pickler recently shaved her head in support of best friend Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. Kellie has been getting a lot of attention ever since and she stopped by the Ellen Show to explain why she did what she did.

Kellie was raised by her grandparents but was "adopted" by her best friends family and so she feels like Summer is more of a sister than just a friend. When she found out Summer had cancer and would have to have a double mastectomy and chemotherapy they made a packed to shave their heads together.

Pickler told DeGeneres that she feels it's important to have a "cancer buddy" and although Summer has been super strong, she was nervous about shaving her head. Pickler went first and once they started, Summer jumped up tried to run away but in the end came back and shaved hers as well. Pickler jokingly says she tackled her and brought her back.

Pickler says, "it's just hair" and isn't really a big deal. They just hoped that they didn't have some funny wart, mole or birthmark under their hair!
