Kelly Clarkson and her husband, Brandon Blackstock, have welcomed a son. A baby boy named Remington Alexander was born on Tuesday (April 12), the singer tells fans.

The 33-year-old singer turned to Twitter to share the happy news on Thursday morning (April 14), writing, “Our little baby boy has arrived!! Remington Alexander Blackstock was born 4/12/16 & he is healthy & we couldn’t be happier or more in love!"

Remington Alexander joins his older sister, River Rose, who was born in June of 2014. Blackstock also has two children from a previous marriage.

Clarkson admits she had just as difficult a time during her second pregnancy as she did during her first.

“I’m familiar with all-day sickness,” she told CBS This Morning last November. “I have to get IVs and fluids because I get so dehydrated. It’s really bad.” She added that getting to be a mother to a child as magical as her daughter made all of her troubles worthwhile.

The singer actually had to miss the series finale of American Idol on April 7 due to the advanced stage of her pregnancy, but she pre-taped a medley performance of a number of her biggest career hits that aired during the final show, giving her the chance to say goodbye to the program that launched her as one of the biggest superstars in contemporary music.
