Kenny Chesney released his newest album 'Life on a Rock' today, April 30th and also announced he has set up the 'Spread The Love: A Fund For Boston' through the Boston Medical Center. This fund will help pay for prosthetics and post acute care of Boston marathon runners who were hurt in the April 15th bombing.

The fund was set up with a 'sizable' (and undisclosed) donation from Chesney already in place. It will continue to grow, as well, fueled by donations from the sale of Chesney's song 'Spread the Love' from the new album. Direct donations from the public can be made to the fund as well.

The song 'Spread the Love' was chosen because it sends the message of what we should all be doing. In a world filled with negativity, Chesney says, we need to remember there are good people out there; spreading the love. Chesney, says 'music can be healing' and 'inspiring'. The runners have inspired him with their strength and resilience and felt setting up this fund was the best way to offer continued support for those injured.

Many of these runners face more surgeries, lots of rehab and the need for the artificial limbs to complete their recovery process; all of which are very expensive.

You can purchase the song 'Spread the Love' or make a direct donation to the fund here.
