Knowing the Difference Between Popular and Electoral Votes is Important During a Presidential Election [VIDEOS]

I have to admit, I wasn’t very interested in History when I was in school. In my more mature years though, I wish I had paid more attention. There is so much that I’m not really knowledgeable about, like the electoral vs. popular votes.
I do know the basics; a Presidential candidate can win the popular vote and still lose the election by not winning the electoral votes. Yes, it sometimes seems that our vote doesn’t count when that happens. It’s hard to understand and even harder to explain. So I found a couple of videos to help us understand this strange election process. The electoral college has a long history being designed in the 1700′s. Things have changed over the last 200 years and maybe so should this but for now this is what we have to work with.
The first video explains the difference between electoral and popular votes. The second video will tell you the problems with this process. They do a much better job than I ever could. Hope this helps you understand things a little better for tomorrow nights election. I have a feeling this one will be a nail biter and we may need to refer to this.
