Cole Swindell had a surprise for the crowd at Nissan Stadium for the first nightly concert of the 2017 CMA Music Festival: Lauren Alaina joined Swindell onstage, for a duet on Swindell's song "Middle of a Memory."

Readers can press play above to see a snippet of Alaina and Swindell's duet; both artists are Georgia natives. Following Alaina's performance, Swindell told the crowd at Nissan Stadium on Thursday night (June 8), "I got chills" (quote via the Tennessean).

Swindell's set at Nissan Stadium came after Garth Brooks made a surprise appearance during Night 1 of CMA Fest 2017. Swindell told the audience that "Middle of a Memory" "fits this situation perfectly because I think tonight we are in the middle of a memory."

Alaina is celebrating a big week: In addition to performing with Swindell, she won Breakthrough Video of the Year at the 2017 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night (June 7).

The 2017 CMA Music Festival is scheduled to run through Sunday (June 11).
