Local Girl Scouts Remember Their Sister Scouts Who Were Vicitims in the Sandy Hook School Shooting in Connecticut
The Girls Scouts are best known for their cookies, however, it is their service to community that they should be recognized for. This Saturday June 5th the local Girl Scouts will be remembering their sisters from Newtown, Connecticut. Many of the small victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting were also Girl Scouts or family members of Girl Scouts.
Of the 12 little girls that died in the shooting, 8 of them were Scouts and 2 of the boys were family members of Scouts. They will be remembered this Saturday at Hillcrest Church of Christ. You may stop by and write down your thoughts and prayers in the shape of the Girl Scout trefoil. Make a keychain or donate a stuffed animal.
All items collected will donated to the Newtown Service Unit during a memorial service in mid-January.
