Logan Mize Shares Acoustic Preview of ‘Better Off Gone’ [Exclusive Video]

Logan Mize, an up-and-coming artist with a family connection to country history, has new music to share, and soon. In advance of the release of a new album, the singer is debuting an acoustic version of one of his new songs, “Better Off Gone,” exclusively for readers of The Boot.

“We all knew she was too good for Kansas / She swears we’ll end up together in the end,” sings Mize. “But she wouldn’t have to say that / If she really thought that, the fact is / She ain’t comin’ back again / She’s gone, movin’ on / Taking off my letter jacket.”

The great-nephew of Billy Mize, a pioneer of the "Bakersfield sound," Logan Mize is an accomplished singer and songwriter in his own right. After signing a publishing and record deal with Big Yellow Dog Music in 2010, the Kansas-born artist landed on the charts with his Nobody in Nashville album (2012), his Pawn Shop Guitar EP (2015) and his single "Can't Get Away From a Good Time" (also 2015). He's toured alongside artists such as Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, LeAnn Rimes and the Band Perry; in 2016, Mize booked his own solo acoustic tour using social media, and traveled across the country in a 1979 Chevrolet station wagon.
