Luke Bryan has signed up to judge American Idol in 2018. The "Light It Up" singer will appear on the reboot on ABC, and we've got questions (and expectations).

Will Luke be good cop or bad cop? Will he collaborate with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie or any of the contestants? Will anyone make fun of his thick Georgia accent? Time will tell, but you can surely count on his remarks going viral once or twice each week. What if Luke Bryan becomes the next Simon Cowell? How he'll respond to contestants who aren't very good is just one of a few things — five, to be exact — we're excited about.

We're also pumped to see which of his friends will join him on the American Idol stage? Will Jason Aldean or Darius Rucker make a cameo? Jason Derulo joining him to remix "Strip It Down" again would be all right, too.

American Idol returns on ABC, and while that threw a wrench into Bryan coming back to host CBS' ACM Awards in April, it opens up the possibility of a cross-network cameo. Maybe he's a doctor on Grey's Anatomy, or maybe he shakes it on Dancing With the Stars? Oh! The Bryan family needs to be neighbors on Modern Family! Someone please make this happen ASAP.

Ryan Seacrest is back to host American Idol in 2018. The new season premieres Sunday, May 11 at 8PM ET.
