Historic rains and flooding floods have ravaged the south and forced the postponement of at least one country concert. Luke Bryan’s concert scheduled for Saturday (March 12) in Bossier City, La., has been moved to May 18.

A statement at the CenturyLink Center Facebook page refers to the flooding and local state of emergency while letting fans know that all tickets will be honored on the new Kill the Lights tour date. Dustin Lynch will open on May 18.

Record-setting rains have soaked the deep south, including parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama and Mississippi. The Weather Channel reports that almost 21 inches of rain had fallen near Monroe, La., (100 miles due east of Bossier City) through Thursday (March 11). Heavy rain is expected to continue through the area on Friday, tapering off later in the day.

All the rain has caused rivers to swell and flash flooding across the region. CenturyLink Center says Bryan’s concert was postponed for safety reasons. According to TWC, five people have been killed during the storms and flooding that followed. As of Thursday night, nearly 16 inches of rain have fallen in Bossier City — levels consistent with a tropical storm, not a late winter weather pattern.

The postponement means Friday night's Luke Bryan show in Little Rock is his last until after the ACM Awards. He'll resume the Kill the Lights Tour on April 7 in West Virginia and stay on the road consistently through the spring and summer. The 2016 ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee will use the break to rest up and prepare to host the ACMs in Las Vegas (April 3).
