‘Swing, Swang, Swung’, will be a first for McMurry Universities theater and jazz band departments. Every summer McMurry puts on two dinner theaters, for the second production of the 2012 McMurry summer series ‘Swing, Swang, Swung’ as they call it, will be an evening of music, dining, and dancing in a nightclub setting, featuring a full seven piece jazz band with a female vocalist.

The McMurry jazz band will play a variety of songs featuring classics like “Satin Doll,” “Body and Soul,” “Take the A Train,” “In the Mood,” and “String of Pearls” all to set the mood for the evening.

University Relations Associate Director Gary Ellison said, “Dr. Mark Wilcox will be the bands director and the Ryan Little Theatre will feature a raised bandstand behind the dance floor that will be surrounded by candlelit tables where dinner guests will enjoy their meals, drinks and entertainment throughout the evening.”
