Little can slow the tempo that legendary singer-songwriter Merle Haggard keeps, but the Hag has been forced to take a break from touring due to a bout with pneumonia.

announcement on Twitter that he wouldn't be able to make his scheduled date at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Catoosa, OK on Thursday night, but hoped that would be the only show he missed:

The 76-year old country music icon has been interweaving his own tour dates with gigs on George Strait's 'Cowboy Rides Away Tour'. While the Catoosa concert was a headlining gig, The Wichita show mentioned in the post is a part of Strait's tour.

While no official word has been announced, according to Haggard's official website, his tour schedule is cleared up until April 24, where he's scheduled to perform in Pensacola, FL. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime, let's wish the Hag all the best for a speedy recovery.
