Alt-country and Southern rock stalwarts Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley are best known as the leaders of the Drive-By Truckers, but the pair is planning a tour sans backing band, in addition to their dates with the Truckers, for the spring of 2019, according to Rolling Stone.

The solo dates will kick off at the Savannah Music Festival in Savannah, Ga., on April 11 and extend for nearly 20 shows across the country before wrapping the following month. In advance of their shows together, Cooley and Hood will join the full band for select dates with Lucinda Williams, a stint on the Outlaw Country Cruise in late January of 2019 and a four-night residency at the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Ga., the following month.

Billed as the Dimmer Twins in homage to the Glimmer Twins (aka Keith Richards and Mick Jagger), Hood and Cooley will draw on their substantial solo material as well as some favorites from the Truckers' catalog of hits. The pair founded the Drive-By Truckers in 1996, although they have been collaborating since the '80s, when they formed their first group, Adam's House Cat.
