A young Miranda Lambert fan received the gift of her dreams this week when the country music star sent her a personal message.

Tatum Schulte is 9 years old and lives in Canyon, Texas, with her parents. She's also battling a form of cancer called osteosarcoma — a bone cancer common in children since 2015. Since her diagnosis, Tatum and her family have generated a lot of support online. They even started a social media page for the young girl and keep her 25,000 followers up to date on her progress.

When Lambert learned of her prognosis, she recorded a video to bring a smile to Tatum's face, telling the young girl, "I heard you’re a big fan and that you’re a Texas girl. I just wanted to tell you hello and that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and that you’re tough and brave just like Texas girls should be, and I’m sending you all the hugs and kisses in the world."

Country Singers Who've Been Affected by Cancer

Sadly, Tatum's health recently took a turn for the worse. Earlier this month, Tatum had to undergo surgery to remove a bone spur, and according to the family, just before the surgery Tatum became sick and her pain became unmanageable. At that point, her family chose to bring hospice into their home to better care for her.

As you can see in the sweet video of Tatum watching the star's message to her (below), Lambert was able to bring a smile to her face. Tatum's family says she has more good days than she bad, but they're asking for prayers for the brave cancer fighter and also have set up a fundraiser for her.
