The MLB All Star game was one game to remember for everybody else other than the American League as the National League dominated in an 8-0 win.It basically only took two innings of work for the National League as they scored 5 in the 1st inning and 3 more runs in the 4th inning.  Justin Verlander gave up 5 runs in the 1st inning of play, and the game was pretty much done at that point as the AL could not get the bats going.

San Francisco Giants stars, Melky Cabrera and Pablo Sandoval, got the party started early.  Cabrera singled with one out in the first inning then scored after a double by Ryan Bruan.  After Verlander walked two straight, Sandoval smacked a triple for a 4-0 lead.  The game was pretty much over at that point.  Cabrera later added a homer and earned the games MVP award.

It was the first All-Star shutout since the NL’s 6-0 win in 1996 at Philadelphia and was the NL’s most lop sided victory in MLB history.

Now the NL will have home field advantage in the World Series.
