Denny Hamlin held off Martin Truex Jr. to take the checkered flag at the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway over the weekend. 

After an overcast day that saw Martin Truex Jr. pretty much dominate the race, Mother Nature decided to change things up a bit and let the Sun come out.  After leading 173 laps, the #55 Toyota was never the same…until the last 3 laps.

Denny Hamlin took the lead with about 30 laps to go after the Sun came out to make the cars stick to the track better.  But, with a handful of laps to go, the clouds took back over and gave the advantage back to Truex Jr who pulled back up to Hamlin to challenge for the lead.  After several attempts to take the lead back, Hamlin held on to take the checkered flag.

Truex Jr. ended up finishing 2nd.  Check out the rest of the top 10, plus pictures of the race below.
