A new Abilene ordinance no longer allows "any on the street" collecting. Abilene and Dyess Firefighters are readjusting how they will operate their "MDA Fill the Boot Campaign." Abilene Firefighter and event organizer John Brunett said "due to the new city ordinance, we've changed locations and we will not be collecting on the streets for the first time in over 20 years."

Brunett went on to say "for the past 3 years, each year we have raised over $40,000 during the Fill-The-Boot right here in The Big Country. Not being able to collect on the streets will make a huge impact to past year’s totals. This year, we're hoping to raise $10,000. That is why it is crucial for everyone to stop by the new locations and donate."
