As many people were flipping back and forth between the second-to-last episode of 'Breaking Bad' and the 2013 Emmy Awards, many assumed that Bryan Cranston would take home one last Best Actor Emmy for his work as Walter White. Those people (including us!) were wrong, as Jeff Daniels pulled off the upset of all upsets and won Outstanding Lead Actor for his work on 'The Newsroom.'

It was an admittedly strong category in 2013 with Daniels beating out not just Cranston but Hugh Bonneville from 'Downton Abbey,' Damian Lewis from 'Homeland,' Kevin Spacey from 'House of Cards' and Jon Hamm from 'Mad Men.'

Even Daniels himself seemed surprised by the win and admitted to the audience he didn't have a speech prepared. He started with "Oh crap," but eventually thanked the cast and crew, including creator Aaron Sorkin.

Very interesting to note that Daniels is currently preparing to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' is just a few weeks.
