July 4th Fireworks Shows in and Near Abilene
The Big Country skies will be lit up in celebration of Independence Day this year. Most communities are including the light shows as part of hometown celebrations, and promise to be worth your time. Here’s a list of places you can go to celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks shows and celebrations in and around Abilene.
The 2013 fireworks show will take place at Grover Nelson Park on ES 11th near Loop 322 on Wednesday, July 3rd at dusk.
You can watch the fireworks for free, or get VIP access is available, which includes a parking pass and six VIP tickets that are each good for admission to the zoo, seating in Festival Gardens (lawn chairs & blankets permitted) and food & drink by Sharon's Barbecue.
Individual tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for kids age 6-12; 5 and under free.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, they will reschedule the show for Friday, July 5th.
The 'Boomfest Fireworks Show' will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd from 6pm-midnight, but that's only part of the festivities going on at Hubbard Creek Lake in Breckenridge. 'Music at the Rocks' will take place at City Park, featuring the community choir and band. You're encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Admission is $10 per car load, with half of the proceeds going to benefit the Breckenridge VFD.

The 4th of July celebration in Cross Plains will include the fireworks popping after dusk at Treadway Park, off Highway 36 near Highway 206.

The Snyder "4th of July Celebration" will feature food, softball, sand volleyball and basketball tournaments, arts & crafts, live music throughout the two-day event. The fireworks are being put on by the American Legion in Snyder, and are scheduled to go off at dusk on the 4th.

Clyde Lake Fest 2013 will feature food vendors, games, camping, live music from the Transporters, Kirk House, Callahan Divide and more on Friday and Saturday, July 5th and 6th at Clyde Lake, located at 1705 Little John Ct. The fireworks will go off after dark each night.
