ABC radio news has just confirmed that 6-time Grammy winner Randy Travis was arrested this morning for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was not only booked for DWI but also for having an open bottle of wine with him at the time he was pulled over. The Sanger, Texas Police department has confirmed that the 52 year old Travis was apprehended in front of a church at 1:30 in the morning.

 

Randy Travis who is known for his smooth baritone voice and songs like “On the Other Hand“,  “Forever And Ever Amen“, “I Told You So“, and his Gospel anthem “Three Wooden Crosses“. In the past five years Randy Travis has concentrated on being a Gospel/Christian artist. No official word from the Travis camp at this time.

 

 



 

 

 

Randy Travis was arrested early Monday morning for public intoxication, ABC News Radio has confirmed. The six-time Grammy winner reportedly had an open bottle of wine with him when he was apprehended by the Sanger, Texas police department in front of a church at approximately 1:30 a.m. ET. Sanger is about an hour north of Dallas. Travis was booked and released.

In addition to his Grammy awards, Travis, 52, has won over a dozen combined ACM and CMA awards. His most recent album was last year’s gospel collection, Blessed Assurance.
