Ray Price Remains Hospitalized in Intensive Care
Country music icon Ray Price is hospitalized after being rushed to the cardiac intensive care unit earlier this week. The 87-year old legendary singer is said to be battling a bacterial infection in his blood line.
Last night Ray developed SEPSIS, a bad bacteria infection in his blood line. We rushed him to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and treatment was started. Rays blood pressure dropped too low and his heart rate too high. We were in watchful crisis all night long and through out early morning hours before he stabilized...I am at Rays bedside and have not left him for a second. I will continue to be ever watchful and give updates as Ray continues to improve.
Ray Price has been in and out of the hospital for more the past couple of years dealing with a variety of health issues, the most serious of which is pancreatic cancer. However, in February he made the announcement that it was in remission.
A 1996 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ray Price enjoyed a string of successful hit songs that spanned more than three decades. Also known as 'The Cherokee Cowboy', Price has had 17 albums in the country music charts top 10. Among his 39 top ten singles include classics like 'Crazy Arms', 'For the Good Times', 'City Lights' and 'Heartaches By the Numbers'.
