The sixth Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam is aimed to grow the $150,000 already raised for youth baseball in Austin, Texas. Roger Creager, Turnpike Troubadours, Cody Canada and the Departed and more have all signed on to play a concert that follows the May 11 game.

Tickets for the charity event are on sale now.

Wade Bowen, Charlie Robison, Micky and the Motorcars and Uncle Lucius are the other confirmed acts. The post-game concert will take place on two stages in center field of Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express, an AAA affiliate for the Texas Rangers.

“My favorite part is walking into Dell Diamond early in the morning before the event starts, and for ten seconds, feeling like I am there to play baseball,” Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly says. In the past, local celebrities and nationally-known musicians like Ray Benson have played in the game. Former Major Leaguers Kevin Millar and Norm Charlton have also played.

All proceeds from the event go to a revival of East Austin’s Mabson Field, a park in the heart of an under-resourced neighborhood in the capital of Texas. The $270K project will be finished this spring.

This charity event is a highlight on the band’s yearly calendar. The Texas-based country fivesome are avid baseball fans and have performed ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ in more than a dozen Major League ballparks. They’re also big fans of the Round Rock Express.

The 2014 Celebrity Softball Jam game begins at 1PM on May 11. For tickets and more information, visit the charity's website.
