Singer with West Texas Ties, Holly Tucker is on Season 4 of ‘The Voice’
It’s no secret that one of my favorite TV shows is ‘The Voice‘. But if you’re not like me, and looking for a little extra incentive, watch the NBC hit show to root for Holly Tucker. The country singer who was chosen to be on ‘Team Blake’ has family and close ties in Clyde, Texas.
Not only did Holly get chosen from the blind auditions, she was a rare unanimous choice by the coaches. Her performance of ‘To Make You Feel My Love’ turned the chair of Adam Levine before Tucker finished her first line. Then Shakira and Usher immediately followed. Blake Shelton, the one she eventually chose for her coach, was last. But it seemed as though he was only taking an extra moment to absorb Holly’s performance before finally hitting his button, rather than trying to decide whether he wanted her on his team. Watch her blind audition here:
I found out in a story that aired on KRBC-TV that, while Tucker’s Facebook page boasts Waco as her hometown (She’s a student at Baylor), her musical roots began with her grandfather, Silas, who still resides in Clyde. And Taylor County is loaded with family and friends who are watching ‘The Voice’ every night to cheer her on.
Holly Tucker is no stranger to performing for big crowds. She’s been singing for well over a decade, and has a video posted on YouTube of her dazzling the audience with her rendition of the National Anthem before a Lady Baylor Bears basketball game.
As a fan of the show, this is exciting. As a West Texan, I’m thrilled to have the Big Country sell represented on my favorite show. Here’s hoping we’ll be watching Holly on ‘The Voice’ for the entire season. Get ready for your chance to help her out with your votes in the weeks to come!
