Slim Whitman died on June 19, 2013. The mustachioed country yodeler was known for his late-night television commercials and a one-of-a-kind voice. While he had a few hits in the '50s, '60s and '70s, his greatest accomplishment might have been saving the world from alien attack. Seriously ... we've got video proof.

Whitman's 'Indian Love Call' is the song the elderly woman is listening to through her headphones just as she's about to be destroyed in the 1996 Tim Burton movie 'Mars Attacks!' starring Jack Nicholson and Michael J. Fox (among others).

But when the headphone jack disengages, Whitman's yodel blares through the stereo speakers, causing the alien's heads to explode. It's the film's turning point, and soon, the human race is saved. Thanks, Slim Whitman.
