Hank Williams Jr. got the ball rolling when he contacted CMT and expressed his desire to help those that were devastated by the disaster. “I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing on TV,” Hank said. “Alabama is home—I am really pumped about helping. I want to raise lot of money, and thanks to my good friends, we are going to be able to make a difference." CMT is reaching out to its viewers and fans in hopes of bringing attention to this cause in light of the recent seismic news events of the past few days (Bin Laden's death) have had the unintended effect of limiting media coverage of this massive disaster. CMT and the artists will not allow this to happen. Together we'll raise the money necessary for those with urgent needs. CMT, MTV Networks and Viacom, urge everyone to donate, text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation to support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts.
