Spurs, Thunder Score Easy Wins and Rockets Fall + Scores & Schedules – The Sports Report 2/11/13

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder had fairly easy wins on Sunday in their match-ups against the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns, respectively. The Houston Rockets, however, didn’t fair as well as they lost to the  Sacramento Kings.

NBA SCORES…

L.A. Clippers 102 – NEW YORK 88… The Clippers pulled away in the fourth quarter to down the Knicks. They got 27 points from Jamal Crawford and 25 from Chris Paul. Blake Griffin finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony’s 42 points weren’t enough for New York.

MIAMI 107 – L.A. Lakers 97… The Heat ran past the Lakers in the second half to win their fifth in a row. LeBron James pumped in a game-high 32 points. Dwayne Wade added 30. Chris Bosh had 12 points and 11 boards.

BOSTON 118 – Denver 114 (3OT)… It took three overtime periods, but the Celtics outlasted the Nuggets and extended their winning streak to five games. Paul Pierce finished with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists. Kevin Garnett had 20 points and 18 boards. Jason Terry tossed in 26 points off the bench.

ORLANDO 110 – Portland 104… The Magic took control with a big second quarter and held on to beat the Trail Blazers and snap their 12-game losing streak. J.J. Redick scored 22 points to lead six players in double figures. Nikola Vucevic powered his way to 17 points and 19 rebounds. Gustavo Ayon had 16 points and 11 boards.

TORONTO 102 – New Orleans 89… John Lucas came off the bench to score 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Raptors fought off the Hornets. Rudy Gay scored 20 points to lead all scorers. Jonas Valanciunas finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

MEMPHIS 105 – Minnesota 88… Tayshaun Prince made all eight field-goal attempts en route to a game-high 18 points as the Grizzlies dealt the Timberwolves their eighth straight road loss. Mike Conley, Zach Randolph and Austin Daye added 16 points apiece.

San Antonio 111 – BROOKLYN 86… The Spurs outscored the Nets 60-29 after halftime to roll to the easy win. Tony Parker scored 29 points and dished out 11 assists. San Antonio had four other players score in double figures.

Oklahoma City 97 – PHOENIX 69… The Thunder got defensive recording back-to-back routs of the Suns and winning their fourth straight. Russell Westbrook led the way with 24 points. Thabo Sefolosha added 20 points.

SACRAMENTO 117 – Houston 111… Isaiah Thomas scored 17 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to help rally the Kings past the Rockets. John Salmons also had 23 points for Sacramento. DeMarcus Cousins added 20 points.
