USA’s ‘Suits’ Will Officially Suit Up For Season 3

Suits Season 3
USA

Suits‘ fans, don’t start dressing casually just yet.  Following its wildly successful second season on USA, the Gabriel Macht/Patrick J. Adams legal drama ‘Suits’ has officially been renewed for a third season to air in the summer of 2013.  Still, ‘Suits’ isn’t the first USA drama to be renewed for an additional season, nor is it the last of the show’s on the network’s plate at the moment, so does that mean bad news for ‘Necessary Roughness,’ and the other legal/political dramas?  Plus, how many episodes can ‘Suits’ fans expect?

Pearson/Hardman has officially been awarded a third year in a settlement.  According to Deadline, USA has granted ‘Suits’ an additional 16-episode season to begin airing in the summer of 2013, following a January run of 6 episodes to close out its second season.  The legal series came in as the top-rated summer cable drama in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, hitting a season high of 6.5 million viewers for its August mid-season finale.

“Quite simply, Suits is as good as it gets,” said USA co-presidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber in their official statement.  “Sophisticated storytelling, sharp dialogue, and award-worthy performances make this show a cornerstone of our original programming lineup.”

Of course, that still leaves the fates of ‘Necessary Roughness,’ ‘Political Animals,’ Fairly Legal’ and ‘Common Law’ up in the air, but what say you?  Are you happy to have ‘Suits’ buttoning up for another year?
