While Chiquita the Chihuahua did not get adopted, she is in the best place possible to give this aging canine a chance at growing old gracefully. Chiquita is at the Rescue The Animals (RTA) shelter where she will remain until adopted. Rescue The Animals is a non-profit no-kill animal rescue facility, this organization operates solely on your donations. If you are interested in an older very calm female chihuahua, please contact RTA at (325)698-7722 (698-SPCA), they're open Monday thru Saturday 1:00 PM till 6:00 PM.

Queen the sweet little Border Collie was adopted by what Aaron Vannoy Executive Director for the Abilene Animal Control Shelter says is a "Border Collie rescue group." "The dog 'Queenie' that you came and did as the KEAN Critter has found a rescue group to take him. This is great news and another success. I will share photos of when they come get Queenie" Vannoy said.  A big thank you goes to everyone that helped with this awesome little critter. The smartest and best pets come from animal shelters like the one right here in Abilene.
