Taylor Swift is by no means a one-trick pony. In addition to selling top albums and chart-busting songs, the 22-year-old country star has also successfully dipped her toe into the waters of acting. If Swift has her way, we could see more of her on the big screen soon.

In addition to makinga a cameo in the 2010 blockbuster ‘Valentine’s Day,’ Swift more recently lent her voice to the part of Audrey in the Dr. Seuss flick, ‘The Lorax.’ Before the Teen Choice Awards this week — where Swift snagged five awards, including one for her latest movie role — she chatted with Entertainment Tonight about her potential career as an actress.

“I’ve been reading scripts for years, and there’s never been anything that fit in the schedule that I also loved, but if those two things could happen, I’d love to be in a movie,” she explained. After all, the mega-popular country star can’t put her guitar down for just any movie role.

The megastar singer — who admittedly looks up to Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence as her acting role models — almost snagged the role of Eponine in the new adaptation of ‘Les Miserables.’ In April, we heard rumors that she might play Joni Mitchell in ‘Girls Like Us,’ an upcoming biopic of 70s icons Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon, but that gig hasn’t panned out just yet.

It’s also been suggested that Swift would make the perfect Sandy if producers ever decide to do a remake of the ever-popular 1978 musical film, ‘Grease.’ If Olivia Newton-John has any say, Swift would get a strong shot at snagging the lead female part.

“Lately, I’ve thought Taylor Swift could probably [play Sandy], because she’s very talented. And my daughter, I’ve always thought she could,” Newton-John said earlier this year.

One thing is for sure: If anyone can play the lead in a music-based movie, it’s country music’s sweetheart. Now it’s just a matter of finding the right script at the right time.
