Taylor Swift has added her name to the already stacked lineup of performers at this year's 40th Annual American Music Awards November 18th. As the event nears, the AMA's are making a case for possibly being the musical event of the year.

Taylor is about the hottest thing going in music - not just country - with the release of her new CD 'Red' in October. She has already seen the first single, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' reach #1 on the country and pop charts, and has another top-10 with 'Begin Again'. Look for more hits from 'Red' as 2013 hits and Swift heads out on tour to support the new CD. Taylor has managed to sell more than a million copies of 'Red' in its debut week, the second time she has managed this feat in her career.

Swift isn't the only country artist who will be on hand at the American Music Awards. Carrie Underwood, who co-hosted the CMA Awards show November 1st, is slated to take the AMA stage as well.

Taylor has been busy with awards shows herself lately. She performed at the CMA's (just minutes after being 'zinged' by Underwood and Brad Paisley) at the beginning of the month, and just returned from the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday (11/11).

Swift is also nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist, an honor that the crossover star has won every year since 2008. A year ago, Swift was the AMA's big winner, taking home three awards including the all-genre Artist of the Year trophy.

Will Swift pull the pop vixen card and perform her crossover smash 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' at the American Music Awards, or will the songstress display her softer side with the beautiful country ballad 'Begin Again?'You can find out by watching the broadcast on ABC November 18th at 7:00pm.
