Texas Aggie Conservatives Condemn Governor Perry Over In-State Tuition [VIDEO]

The Texas Aggie Conservatives better known as TAC has started a petition asking Governor Rick Perry to call to order a special session to end in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. The Aggie Conservative student organization has publicly condemned the Texas Governor for using taxpayer dollars to aid illegal immigrants in their continuing education. The TAC states that, “this policy is a burden to the Texas taxpayer and it rewards illegal criminal behavior.”

As of Tuesday, October 11 2011, over 200 Texans had signed this special petition. The TAC has posted the petition online and made it available for tax paying Texans to sign. The full petition can be reviewed at the Texas Aggie Conservatives’ website.

“It is outrageous that Texas A&M, because of Governor Perry, is awarding those who violated the law with in-state tuition and financial aid. The Texas government, especially in these troubling economic times, should not be subsidizing the higher education of adults who cannot legally work in the United States,” said Steven Schroeder, Chairman of the Texas Aggie Conservatives.

The September recipient of the Texas A&M University “DREAMers Undergraduate Student Award,” is an illegal immigrant student named Maria Cabello. Cabello, a self-described “activist,” she publicly came out as “undocumented, unafraid, and unashamed” at the Texas Dream Alliance rally held on the A&M campus. Cabello is receiving in-state tuition under the Texas DREAM Act signed into law by Texas Governor Rick Perry in 2001.
