‘The Daily Show’ Says Goodbye to Wyatt Cenac
It looks like we’ll be saying goodbye to Wyatt Cenac — the ‘Daily Show‘ writer and correspondent has put in his notice and is leaving the show in December after four years. There’s a presidential joke in here somewhere. Too bad he won’t be around to find it for us.
Four more years! Four more years! Can we vote to keep Wyatt Cenac on ‘The Daily Show’? According to Vulture, the comedian has decided to leave the show and Jon Stewart behind after serving as a writer and correspondent since 2008, providing viewers with his special brand of dry humor and delightful wit.
Cenac has been gaining momentum as of late with his personal comedy career, so his departure isn’t that much of a surprise, given how the show launched the careers of Steve Carell, Ed Helms, Kristen Schaal (who still appears from time to time), and of course — Stephen Colbert. Cenac will (hopefully) follow in their footsteps and continue a very successful independent career.
That’s not to say that we won’t miss him. Cenac has been an absolute joy to watch for the last four years, but we’re sure that the brilliant staff behind ‘The Daily Show’ will find another fresh face for us to get to know and love. Making new TV friends is hard, though.
