The Fort Griffin Fandangle in Albany Continues This Weekend June 27-29
The Fort Griffin Fandangle in Albany has one weekend left; so, if you missed it this past weekend be sure you have your tickets for the upcoming weekend. The Fandangle is a huge community/family event that you don’t want to miss.
Many of you may have attended the Fandangle a time or two or maybe every year but for those that have never been, it is a fabulous outdoor theater production with real people, animals and sometimes real thunderstorms! The first time I went we were caught in a storm, they called off the play and we had to return the next night to catch the performance.
The whole community of Albany gets involved. They are the featured actors in the historical re-enactment of the Northwestern Texas Frontier Story. This year happens to be the 75th anniversary production. This is the oldest outdoor musical production in the state.
We always head to Albany early so we can stop off at the Beehive for a little food (I love the potato skins) and then head over to watch the show. Of, course, you can also catch a BBQ box lunch or dinner at the Bank Park, there’s a quilt show, entertainment at the Aztec Theater, a Calliope concert and more before you head to the main show.
The singing, dancing, gun fights, cattle drives, and of course, humor is absolutely fabulous. This is something you have to see and it’s family friendly. You won’t be disappointed!
The show features real cattle, horses, covered wagons, a replica train, plus 300 local actors/actresses from Albany. The show is always the last 2 weekends in June and that means you only have this coming weekend to catch a performance. The shows run Thursday-Saturday (June 27,28 & 29). Get your tickets now!
