A very rare six foot albino alligator known as the "Ghost of the Bayou" has made the Abilene Zoo it's temporary home. Bill Gersonde, executive director of the Abilene Zoo says “these animals cannot survive in the wild on their own, and this is a terrific opportunity to learn all about the American alligator.” Jenny the albino alligator made her debut on Saturday May 24th and will be on display through the summer. The Abilene Zoo is home to more than 900 animals from 250 species. The Abilene Zoo is open 7 days a week and closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
