It's back to basics for Thompson Square. The duo's new single 'Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About' is a no-tricks, easy-to-embrace love song that finds the married couple having a conversation as comfortable as, "What's for dinner?"

That simple back and forth is what made 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' such a huge hit in 2010. Keifer and Shawna are at their best when the playful nature of their romance bubbles to the top.

"Baby, you've always had a one track mind / So what you're saying ain't no surprise / What may come as a shock to you / Is that I'm having all those little thoughts too, yeah," Shawna sings during her verse, responding to Keifer's suggestive, but still very G-rated, first verse.

'Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About' isn't breaking any new ground; the uptempo, pop-friendly track is as straightforward as it gets. But for Thompson Square, that's a nice change of pace after the deeper and more artistic 'If I Didn't Have You,' and especially 'Glass.'

The chorus goes: "The way you're looking back at me right now / I'm thinking about everything I shouldn't be thinking about / You're playing with my mind, baby ain't no doubt / I'm thinking about everything I shouldn't be thinking about / You're everything I shouldn't be thinking about."

What the song lacks in creativity, the couple more than make up for in delivery. So far, all Thompson Square has released are love songs (or songs about love), but it's hard to fault them for staying within that roomy comfort zone.
