Tim McGraw Postpones Concert to Avoid Conflict With Twister Relief Benefit

Tim McGraw has a reputation for being a great person with a big heart, and he’s showing it again. The country superstar has postponed his concert at the Kansas Star Arena in Wichita, Kansas this weekend to ensure the country music community can focus on Toby Keith’s Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert.

In a simple press statement issued through McGraw and the Kansas Star Arena management, it was announced that the show, which was originally scheduled for Sunday (July 7th), will be moved to October 12th in order to “avoid a conflict with the tornado relief fundraising concert in Norman” on Saturday (July 6th). Scott Cooper, general manager of the Kansas Star Casino, stated:

“While we were looking forward to hosting Tim McGraw this weekend, helping our neighbors in their time of need must take precedence…We encourage everyone to support the artists donating their time and talents at this Saturday’s concert in Oklahoma, and we look forward to hosting Tim at the Kansas Star Arena in October.”

The rescheduling of the show isn’t without glitches. In fact, Joe Nichols, who was originally booked to open for McGraw, has a prior commitment and won’t make the rescheduled date. A new opening act will be scheduled.

Fans planning to attend the concert shouldn’t be too surprised or upset by the delay, since Tim McGraw has a reputation for being a guy who puts the needs of others first and is an exemplary music star. Concertgoers in October also shouldn’t be surprised if McGraw does something extra to show his appreciation for their patience. (Suggestion: Have Toby make an appearance at the concert…just sayin’.)
