Proud papa Toby Keith has welcomed his daughter, singer-songwriter Krystal Keith, into the fold as a recording artist on his Show Dog-Universal record label.

According to her bio, Krystal displayed a natural talent for music at the early age of five. But instead of giving her easy breaks, her parents chose the harder route of encouraging their talented daughter to develop over time, performing in grassroots settings until she had paid her dues and was truly ready for her big break.

“My parents didn’t just want to hand me everything. They taught me to work for it and work hard,” she explains. “So, I started singing in competitions when I was 13 years old. I always knew I was going to be a singer, but my dad taught me that experience is what would get me there, and this was a great experience. I learned a lot. I then started singing at the Oklahoma Opry, now the Rodeo Opry, every three weeks or so to really hone my craft.”

Krystal was introduced to country audiences worldwide when she performed 'Mockingbird' with her famous father at the CMA Awards in 2004, but she still decided to finish school, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Oklahoma University and even gaining some practical experience in that field before putting together the songs for her debut CD.

According to Country Aircheck, Krystal's debut CD will be produced by Toby Keith alongside Mark Wright, whose career encompasses songwriting and producing hits for such artists as Lee Ann Womack, Gary Allan, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks & Dunn and Gretchen Wilson.
